We do a lot to improve life for communities in need!

Elaine Shimpa

Vice President

I have been incredibly fortunate in my life to never have to experience the difficulties I see in the world every day. I can’t imagine what it’s like to go hungry - and I think it’s a shame that in a country as great as ours, anyone should have to go hungry. The statistics for the State of Arizona are overwhelming. Currently

1 in 5 Arizonians, 1 in 4 children, and 1 in 7 senior citizens live in poverty. The need grows daily. Arizona happens to be one of the top ten states stricken with poverty.

As a Combat Viet Nam Veteran, USMC, I realized the need for a special program to honor our Heroes that are serving and have served. Therefore with that desire in my heart, I founded Operation Feed Our Vets. and became President CEO of Caring Hearts Food Bank Ministry. We are working to make a difference in our world and I believe that by focusing on communities, we’re going to make the most substantial impact. The world is made up of these important social connections and if you foster them positively, they’ll pay huge dividends - in love, care, and a better world.

With Special Thanks to our Donors & Sponsors, Legacy Foundation, River Fund Inc., St. Mary's Food Bank, Safeway, Smith's, WalMart, Harrah's Heroes Fund, Aquarius, Perkins, Lizzy's Kitchen, and many individuals who donate when they can. Thank You!

We are continually working hard to honor our Veterans by creating special programs that give them and their families nutritious food, gently used clothing, health screenings, vitals & blood sugar checks, Military information, places that can give financial aid, and help with finding homeless Veterans a place to live. We also have created a special "Veteran's Pack" which includes all the personal essentials they may need and are somewhat expensive to purchase. We service our Veterans on their own special days, which is the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month.

Whether it's preparing "food boxes" in our pantry, painting walls of a newly repaired home, or collecting donations, we need your help as well. If you're interested to see what we've been doing recently, please come by our "Caring Hearts Food Bank Ministry" - OPERATION FEED OUR VETS, and check us out!
